worship at Trinity

Worship is the center of our life at Trinity.  We strive to make our worship experience meaningful and relevant to people of all ages, so that God is honored, and we are encouraged and inspired to follow Jesus Christ. Worship at Trinity includes both contemporary and traditional expressions in music, prayers and sermon messages.  Teaching from scripture is central in our worship.

The first Sunday of each month we usually celebrate communion.  Communion in the Presbyterian Church is "open", meaning that anyone who believes in Jesus Christ and sincerely desires to draw closer to him through the Lord's Supper is invited to partake.

The majority of services have blended traditional and contemporary music. One Sunday of each month the service features contemporary music with a praise band. Our choir leads us through all types of music from classical through contemporary.

If you feel God is speaking to you through some of the new worship songs we sing, you can pick up copies of the words on the table in the narthex. These are often a source for prayer and meditation through the week.

In addition to regular Sunday morning worship, we have special services for Ash Wednesday (the beginning of Lent ), Good Friday  and Christmas Eve.

children in worship

Children are always welcome in worship. We provide childcare for infants and pre-schoolers for those who prefer that setting for their children.

Worship bags are available in the narthex for children pre-K through 4th grade.  Each bag contains a child's bulletin, crayons, paper, and stickers. These bags encourage children to be engaged in worship by providing helpful teaching aides appropriate to them.  You will find the bags hanging on a child size coat tree before you enter the sanctuary.

During the service there is a children's message related to the scripture or topic of the day. At this time, children are encouraged to go the front of the sanctuary where they can see and hear. After the children's message, children may leave for "Children's Church" where they have learning activities during the sermon time.

On Sundays when communion is served, children and their teachers return to the sanctuary for the communion time. Parents make the decision as to when each child should begin receiving communion. If you have questions about this, Pastor Randy would be glad to discuss it with you.

a place of prayer

The sanctuary is reserved as a "Place of Prayer after worship services on Sundays.  We ask that as people finish with their greetings that they exit the sanctuary and continue conversations in the narthex or Fellowship Hall. This allows anyone who wants a time of quiet prayer to find that in our sanctuary. If in your conversation you would like to pray with someone, please feel free to ask them to join you in the sanctuary. The church is closed at the usual time after the Sunday morning activities.

When other activities are occurring in the church, the sanctuary is open for anyone who wishes to spend some time in prayer.
